To my knowledge, there is no inexpensive way to do this, you either need the PIWIS (at $20K for the first year) or another expensive diagnostic tool costing more than $3-4K.

No, Durametric software cannot change the battery configuration or perform battery registration on modern Porsches. This is a capability it has lacked for many years; you will need the PIWIS system.
