PCA does NOT allow expired race harnesses to be used at HPDEs. The expiration rule for AX is not explicit, but general PCA rules require race harness replacement after 5 years.

Better photos of the entire engine would be very helpful. Yes, there is an oil tank (which 912s do not have), and I don't think it is a 912 engine. How many cylinders/spark plugs does it have, 4 or 6?
