How can you have a fuel pressure problem with good pressuer at the injector? You cannot gain pressure if it is low coming from the pump. What are your symptoms?

My tach and spedo drop off. I have an 88 S4 and thsi has happened ever since I got the car last Aug. Flash to pass has no impact. The charging system is fine. Any ideas?
