We used to gas up an old Connie they had at the local airport years ago and mentioning the purple av gas brought back some memories. Seems like we pumped as much oil into the thing as we did gas.

My budddy has an earlier Boxster with around 70K on it. It runs fine sometimes and other times not. My guess is some water temp sensor but a guess and a nickel will get you a teaspoon of coffee....
