That sound reasonable and along the lines of what I thought. I also thought I may be missing an extention and they hook underneath. Another problem I have is the wind blows this around pretty good....

Straps under car cover

I have a OEM Boxster car cover that has 2 black straps where the hood is. Attached on the end are 2 black plastic rings. Can anyone kindly tell me what the straps are for and if the attach somewhere?
