Prefer no seam in the middle.

On my '86, there were no plastic washers beneath the trim, just the tape.
There is nothing on the glass, just the rubber seal.

To replace the glass and seal/aluminum trim I used 14ga automotive...

For antisqueal I just use the tiniest, thinnest smear of antisieze possible and file a small bevel on the leading and trailing edges of the pads.
Works for me.

I lift the front by jacking on the centre of the steel bar that guards the condenser. Jack stands at the torsion bar anchors. Condenser is long gone but I kept the bar for that specific purpose....
