997 clearance need to remove the transmission.

Hello,

I have quick Jack's with about a 20" clearance for my 2007 911 4s. Will that be enough clearance to drop the transmission out?

Thanks.

I don’t think so.
In the attached pic, car is on jack stands at front suspension and jacks with blocks at rear (not shown in pic). Those are 10” high density concrete blocks ( not cinder blocks available in the US), and about 8” wood block at front and 10” at rear. Then you have the normal ground clearance, say 5”, to account. Notice the extra space between the top of the tires and top of wheel wells, say 2”. My guess is at least 27”.
You need the height to get to the top rear bolts of the bell housing which I found will need almost 30” of extensions to reach. Height makes dealing with the slave cylinder less difficult.
While you are in there, consider pulling the seal on the IMS bearing which will require locking the cams.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Johan

For the IMS bearing seal removal cam locking, which bank did you lock?

For QuickJack not having enough natural lift, has anyone perfected a technique to do a 2 step lift using cribbing (in the trays) to get the desired lift for an engine or tranny drop?

I did both, others may have different opinions.
You should probably do a search on Renntech which has some serious threads.

When I did the two chain tensioners not under the AC compressor, I alternated which cam was locked. I'm pretty sure I changed the IMS chain tensioner so was just wondering for the seal removal. Can't ever hurt to "over lock" though... It's just that I have only one lock and it was $80.
