Will New Air Intake Hose cause Check Engine Light

I recently added a new eBay Air Intake Hose to my '06 Base Carrera 2 and now have a Check Engine Light On. I took the car to O'Reillys to borrow OBD Reader and came back with following codes:

P0300 - Random Misfire Detected
P0301 - Cylinder 1 Misfire

Could the new Air Intake Hose have thrown the code?

I've read on Google, that P0300 could be Spark Plugs, Coils, etc. However, I am wondering if the new Air Intake Hose could be the culprit.

Lastly, do I need OBD2 reader to turn off the Check Engine Light?

The new hose as long as it's installed tightly shouldn't cause a misfire . Your car is 16 years old when were the plugs and coils last changed ? The coils tend to get cracks in them and that causes misfires .

Yes an OBD scanner is needed to reset the check engine . But if you don't fix the problem it will come back on .

Is that an actual username? If so, very creative.
