P1539 Bank 2 cam deviation

Need some advice. I have been battling cam deviation for the last few months. I have rebuilt the actuators and now replaced them.

Here is the situation. Car runs fine but on occasion when you get on it the car will have a hiccup and throw a CEL for P1539 the go right back to running fine.

Has anyone run across this before? Not sure if its the ECM or possibly the actuator is moving. I have heard of the bolts striping in the head.

Really trying to avoid dropping the motor again.

Also its a M96.1 5 chain ran the durametric on it and bank one is at 6 deg and bank 2 is at 3deg

P1539 is typically a wiring fault, either with the signal wire or the power supply.

So I have done the following. Tested the solenoid and it engages, tested and have 12.3 volts at the connector and did an oms test on the trigger wire back to the ECM.

Thoughts

When the solenoid engages, does the engine idle change?

Then it is working and the wiring is fine, with the exception of the fact the DME is not always seeing it working.

I would take a close look, as in manually tracing it, at the harness from the sensor to the DME; there are often multiple connectors in these harnesses, one or more of which may be loose or show terminal corrosion which could be the cause of your intermittent issue.
