Need some hood measurements
Trying to fit my replacement hood on with no luck.
I need the dimensions from the front edge of the hood , to the first hinge bolt on the hood. Also the measurement from the front edge of the hood to the pivot point on the hinge itself. Something is out of whack, cant figure out what. Car is an '86

there is the tip of the hood, then it curls under and makes a lip, from the edge of that lip to the middle of the first bolt is 39 inches, this is running down the drivers side edge.
from the very tip of the front drivers side edge to the middle of the first bolt its 39 1/2" there are "ears" that stick off the hindges right before it goes to the piviot point, from those ears foward to the very tip of the hood its 44 and a half inches. and this one is the least accurate, cause it was hard to read with just a tape and one hand, from the pivot point on the hindge to the tip of the hood should be right around 51 1/4" good luck! lemme know how myou make out and if you need an extra set of arms getting it on. I have my hood off at the moment but I can tell you that from the back of my headlight to the center of the front hole in the hinge on mine is 39 15/16" on both sides.
