944SMAX is HERE!

This is the production chip. The dyno today wasn't giving us proper A/F so we couldn't log it. And the peak HP/TQ numbers weren't quite what we had hoped for, but the torque curve against stock is quite impressive to say the least. This verifies Jesse's comments about how the car 'feels' so much better than before.

On today's dyno we gained 5HP over stock, but you can easily see that the torque curve comes in 100 RPM sooner and 2Lbs higher at 3500-4000 rpms, and holds again 4Lbs higher at over 200 rpm sooner from 4000 rpms to peak at 4500 rpm, 200 rpm before stock peak. From there the torque curve holds 4-6Lbs over stock all the way to redline. The run was to 6500 rpm but this chart only shows to 6050 for some reason, but you can see as the HP and TQ lines are leaving the chart they are spreading even farther from stock to redline. This car doesn't run out of steam.

We may go back to the dyno another day to see if we can get a good A/F reading. All in all we are very happy with the performance of this chip. We guarantee you will be too!

Just a plug and a free bump for Russell. I bought one of these from him a couple weeks ago. He sent it promptly, but as soon as he found out there were a couple of tweeks to be made after the last dyno session he contacted me and let me know he would be sending me the latest version for free. I can't say enough about his customer service. I can't wait to install the final version of the chip, and I'll report back about how it works for me!

I just installed Russell's final version of the 944SMax chip and all I can say is it's a job well done!

The car had an aftermarket chip in it, but it feels better throughout the rev range now, and I could tell the difference in acceleration even with my son in the car with me. I'm very happy with my purchase and with Russell's customer service, I would recommend his chips to anyone!!

Hey Rodney,

I don't concern myself with peak horsepower numbers on a non-turbo car, as it will vary from 4-10 depending on the car, the dyno, the gas, etc. My chips provide the BEST overall performance of anything on the market. Our testing proves peak numbers from 5-8HP/6-10TQ over stock, but what is much more impressive than that is the available power band, which far surpasses stock, and any other aftermarket chip.

The dyno only shows you what is happening in the wide open throttle maps, so that's what most people work on to try to deliver inflated dyno numbers. I spend the most time working on the partial throttle maps, which is why when people use my product after trying another aftermarket product they can't believe the difference in drivability. You spend 90% of your time driving in the partial throttle maps if your car is not a full time race car.

Lastly, we back up our claimes with a 30 day unconditional money back guarantee. And it means just what it says, if you don't like the product, found you needed the money for lunch next week, wife tells you to get rid of it, ANY reason, you send it back, we send your money back. It's that simple. That is why our motto is Maximum Performance, Guaranteed!

Regards,
Russell

Consider this post, and official vouch

Bought a 951MAX chip along with some other small upgrades, and the car feels great!

All I did for upgrades was some wastegate shims, vacuum lines, Manual boost controller, and the fuel pressure regulator. The car is still running at ~ stock boost so the performance should stay about the same, but the 951MAX chip made it pull harder and more consistant throughout my rpm range.

Somewhere along the way, he stopped my small intermittent backfires too (in between shifts on wide open throttle, dunno where they came from).

Thanks!
-Alex

SMAX, isn't that some sort of kids breakfast cereal?

hee hee... anyhow, if i ever decide to modify my 951, or get around to throwing the late DME/AFM in my 944, i'll probably pick up a set of chips or two from you, and maybe a couple boxes of sugar-coated SMAX too to nibble on while i cruise the forum
