I would guess you are running out of fuel. Make sure you have pressure at the fuel rail.
Should be approximately 2 bars or around 30.

If it idles really rough before it dies it might be a vacuum leak. Tom is probably closer with low fuel pressure. Do you smell gas under the hood (fuel rail or lines)? When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? Might need to check the fuel pump as well.

The reason that happens is this....you are running a lean fuel mixture. By stepping on the accelerator, you open the valve that lets air into the motor. Because you just allowed more air into a motor that already has too much air, there isn't enough fuel to keep it running. Two possibilities exist...either there isn't enough fuel going into the cylinders for the amount of air (check this by checking the fuel pressure on the fuel rail) or there is/are air (vacuum) leaks that allows more air into the cylinders than there should be causing the mixture to be too lean. If the fuel pressure appears ok, then check the voltage on the fuel injectors to make sure it's ok. If those check ok, then move on to looking for vacuum leaks.

You might check your AFM connection (plugged in, clean, etc.).

Clark's garage
Just in case, you haven't found it yet. GREAT SITE!! Save it, look at it frequently, notice whats under "Troubleshooting" (engine), and also under "Sensors" (information, troubleshooting, and testing). Good luck, go after it systematically. You'll get there quicker and easier. "taint gonna be that hard........we hope!
