The motor wont turn over

A friend of mine drove his 83 944 one mile with only 3 quarts of oil (oh god why). He parked it at autozone and put another quart in it there, started it, reved it, drove it 20ft when it suddenly sputtered and died. The starter now makes a pronounced "CLUNK" (it has been tested and works) on engagement. We pulled the plugs which arent damaged, and tried turning the motor over by hand in both directions, but it wont budge. Does this sound like a siezed motor?

Well it turns out in that time he had replaced his starter, and wired it wrong. Now it cranks but wont fire so we'll see whats goin on there. Can you do some serious damage driving such a short distance with half oil?

it depends on the oil system. in a cessna 172 (they ask for anywhere from 5-8 qts of oil) you can fly with 2, but the pressure is low and the temp gets high after long... you have to be careful. if he didn't go far it probably is alright...

Highly unlikely that running on 3 -4 quarts in a parking lot, in a low rev, low G situation.

If it had pressure, it should be fine.

now, maybe someone will come along with a specific scenario of low pressure and tensioner collapes, but i'm no 944 guru, so I would guess about that.

If somebody I knew did that to their 944 they would no longer be my friend
Dare I ask his motivation?
