Thanks everybody!!!
I had posters of Porsches plastered in my room when I was 15. Now, 21 years later, I finally have one in my driveway.

You're right about needing the internet help for these cars. I've already found Clark's Garage. I wish Bentley Publishers would come out with a repair manual for these cars. We're stuck with the ridiculously expensive factory manuals or the crappy Haynes manual which, by the way, is of no use to an S2 owner.
The car really is in good shape which is surprising because it is a track veteran with 20+ DE's under it's belt. It does have a few brake and suspension issues that I'm trying to iron out quickly because I'm taking it to VIR in two weeks.

Ha Ha.... This is great!!! I'm new to this forum so I haven't seen any of your cars yet. They look fantastic. It's amazing considering the age of these cars!!!
EMBPilot - The "Twist" wheels look good. My car's previous owner had a set with some Toyo R-compounds that he offered to me. I passed on them though because I needed to put some money back into the car. Look for them on E-bay soon. 91S2 - I like the 968 wing. I've only seen one other on a 944 and it was painted body color (Red). I didn't care too much for it painted, but I do like it in black. Eventually, I want to install the 968 mirrors and door handles. I think it modernizes the car a bit.

I think the 1991 S2's came with the 968 style wing in black standard. Or it might have been an option. Or 91S2 may have put it on himself. But I have seen more than a few late S2's with black 968 wings.
The 968 door handles and mirrors, IMO, do wonders to the age of the car. My next 944 will definately be getting a set.

I for the life of me dont understand why people want to make their CLASSIC P-cars look "modern".
This to me is like trying to 'modernize' a 60/70's Mako Shark vette by putting on modern Vette mirrors, clear lenses, and rims. IMO a bone stock 944 or 928 is MUCH sharper looking than any of Porsche's current offerings, and are more 'modern looking' than the vast majority of the cars on the road today. But, to each their own... |

Mein Gott!

All '91 S2s had the 968 rear wing as standard equipment. I've seen them both in body color and black.
Redroc - tell us more.....thats a gorgeous car you've got there!!!!

I usually prefer clean mods and I think the 968 handles and mirrors update the car nicely. Don't worry there are no big wings or body kits in my car's future. I think I'm sick of the stock 944 door handles anyway. They are the same ones that are on my VW Scirocco that I've owned since 1986.
Well Johnny what do you want to know about the car??? I bought it about three weeks ago from a local PCA instructor. The car was originally bought in Maryland for $38,XXX.XX and has spent its entire life in either MD or VA. It's just about to turn 113,000 miles. The engine is strong. It was owned for a while by the owner of Autobahn Service here in VA. He did a lot of work to it while he owned it. He freshened up the motor with new rings, bearings, and resurfaced the head. He installed a lot of new parts as he put it back together. New clutch and Koni Sports all the way around along with 968 brake cooling ducts and 18mm rear stabilizer bar. This was all done in 2003 with about 93,000 miles on the car. When I bought the car the brakes were shot. Several DE's while using Hawk Blacks shredded the rotors. There was about a 3/16" lip on both front rotors and the ABS sensors looked like porcupines from all of the shavings. I replaced all of the rotors and pads (Hawk HP+) this past weekend. Now under very hard braking there is something wrong with the right front. It doesn't lock up but there is a loud clunk from that side that you can both hear and feel and the brake pedal kicks back like there is one big ABS pulsation. It goes to a Porsche shop on Thursday to get that sorted out. While it's there it gets new tires mounted, a 4-wheel alignment, new belts, gear lube change, and a new fuel filter along with a thorough going-over. The shop races 944's and they know their stuff.
