997 door ding/crease in rear quarter
Left my car at the Collection on Friday here in Miami for warranty work, was in a hurry and picked it up without looking at the passenger side.
Took the car out of the garage on Saturday morning noticed someone opened a door on the rear quarter/flair. Pissed, as I did not see it, otherwise I would have raised hell at the dealer. Unreal how this can happen at a high end dealer. I have searched a few sites and most say paintless dent removel will not work on the quarters as it has two layers of metal. Anyone have any ideas. Also, I would suggest when dropping the cars off at the dealers make sure you go over the entire car with the service rep and examine it closely on return. Amazing how no one gives a F__K about anything. |

It doesn't surprise me. A friend of mine picked up his new Lexus after warranty work and an oil service and noticed that the driver's door had been creased badly (while the stop was out). They tried to hide it with touch-up paint- the damage eventually required a new door skin!!
I would recommend talking to the dealer first, and if they do not wish to cover the repair, try the paintless franchises. I'm not quite sure what they're referring to as "two layers" as most of the metal on 911 quarters I have run into- figuratively- are accessible all the way from the lockpost to the decklid . . . but I haven't dealt with the 997s.
