Door panel off and found this rolling around at the bottom!
Removed my driver side door panel today to identify a rattle and do some maintenance prior to installing an AppBiz panel. At the inside bottom of the door .. near the stay .. I found this piece. Tried to identify it in the new parts catalog but no luck. All the door mechanisms have been working fine.
Help in identifying this part is appreciated. ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks!

Broken part..It holds the spring in the roll up mechanism. The inside of the spring fits in the flats.

I'm on this project myself. It's not the center of the spring, it's at the end of it, winding the spring more, providing more tension, and helping raise the window faster than it likely is moving now. I've got a great set of links at this post (plus a bunch of other door-related posts).

Does your window roll up and down ok? If so, most likely the PO had it break and replaced it but did not bother to fish out the broken part.
It is called a pivot pin and you can get replacements from our host. |

Garment, are you sure? It looks like the center pivot pin that I needed to replace on both my windows a few years ago.

100%. See this thread which was my bible for this fix. In fact, I mistakenly ordered the center pin and had to send it back, it's not the pin for the end of the spring. You can even see the busted pin laying on the regulator in the pic.

Garment, i see. When mine failed, they were the ones in the center. If you windows are working, no worries. If not take the regulators out and repair as needed. The necessary part will be obvious.

My "while I'm in there" journey started b/c the passenger window was out of parallel. When I took off the door card, and saw the tensioning pin was missing from the regulator...well, you know how things progress from there...
I bought 2 coupling nuts and bolts, I am quite certain that I have the same issue on the drivers door, hopefully the next time things go much more quickly. Quote:
