Karosserie RS gmbh 996 whale tail??
So what did I pick up yesterday? Trying to find some info on this whale tail. Went to look at it, was told it was from a "Carrera" and was hoping to find a 3.8 RS type tail for my '86. But as soon as I saw it I knew it was from a 996. I almost passed but the quality and construction is far nicer than most aftermarket tails I've seen, and there's even a manufacturer's label inside. But I can't find anything about this company:

Definitely a curiosity at best. That's why I had to buy it. My initial thought was 993 too, but shape and size of the engine lid portion is clearly 996. And the construction is almost OE, not a rough 'glass edge anywhere. I have enough 996 friends that I figured one of them would want it so I won't have to turn it into a really exotic coffee table.

interesting.. definitly looks like a 993 tail design, but i can see the shape of the decklid is 996. It has the air nozzle and fan holes underneath also.. you should give it to me to make sure it fits on a 996.

I saw that on craigslist!
Are you going to try and adapt it to a 911 engine lid? |

No, just thought I'd buy it and see if one of my 996 friends might want it. That and I was intrigued by it, wanted to figure out what it is. Too bad bad it would be too much work to graft onto a 911 engine lid though.
