C4S Silly Question
Out of sheer curiosity, can someone explain what that plastic dome thing is under the front hood on my 2004 C4S? Is it related to the gas tank? Maybe related to the 4wd system?
I know the 4S (and turbo as well?) have this reconfigured front trunk, so my money is on 4wd-related, but I'd love to know more. Thanks!

I believe the battery is under it.

Thanks for the reply. It's actually in front of the battery. If you take a look at this pic, it's dead center right in front of the battery:

It is the access for the fuel pump & tank.
AWD have a different tank configuration due to the AWD, a saddle tank that infers the fuel level in the front, smaller, section. Don't disconnect the battery when the fuel level is below ~1/2 or you will have to perform a fuel level calibration.

Thanks! Good to know about the battery disconnect as well. Was about to install a battery tender hookup and would have gotten hit with this. Appreciate the advice!

Not a stupid question. I learned something new today!
both on the "subwoofer" cover and the fuel tank recal. I've disconnected the battery briefly before, but never had to enter new codes into the radio and such. What if your battery is disconnected for a month (as mine has been, down for major maintenance). Will I have to totally reset all window limits and other "calibratables?"
