Engine whine 996
Hi everybody,
This is Peter from Germany. Unfortunately I cannot find a solution for my engine whine problem, seems like I'm not the only one with a 3,6l Carrera. There's a video on youtube which perfectly shows what I'm talking about- the whining noise, even without the belt mounted: https://youtu.be/-zi633t8frU My engine is rebuilt, new gaskets, bearings, chains, cylinders... I know noises are very subjective- but I think the noise was not present before the rebuild... Regards, Peter |

Try removing the serpentine belt and see if the noise goes away, if it does, you have bearing going out in one of the rotating components.

The noise is present with the serpentine belt removed...

Then I'd start by check all the spark plug for tightness.

Throw out Bearing??? Does the pitch change when you depress the clutch.
