XC90 fuel filler cap replacement

Hey everyone,
This is my first post in the Volvo forum.
I have a check engine light on in my 2019 XC90. The code came back as fuel filler cap bad. I understand that this can be replaced but I’m not sure how to go about removing the original. Does it just pull straight out? The dealership told me it didn’t require special tools.
Any ideas or experience is most welcome.

Are you able to get the part? Was told it fails so often its hard to get

I did get the part. I didn’t realize it was a common failure. Tried for about an hour today to get the original out. No luck!
