Yes you are correct. Water on the passenger floor board usually means a rotted away battery pan. Mine was the same way. I took it in and had it professionally repaired. No more leaks. Although you think you might have sealed that bastard up tight, you might have left some small holes. My suggestion, take it to someone who can do it right and provide you with a guarantee.
