89 325 Ic Computer Display.

have an 89 325Ic. Can not read the computer display (temp, etc.) any more. Looks like bulb is out or something. During daytime you can faintly read display so I know it is still working. Is there a bulb that is replaceable in there?

Also, our cruise control does not work. Also, avg. speed and other functions do not read accuratly. Almost like a bad speed sensor or something. Any recomendations on where to start checking?

Thank you in advance.

BMW Roundel

The back light on the OBC is out - one bulb cancels out the other when one burns out.

Replace this with a new insert (bulbs included). You may have to drop the glove box and then a side inner panel and access it this way - I did on my '91 325. There are 4 screws holding the OBC from the INSIDE of the dash. Pull the OBC out and there is a small plastic "door" that the bulb insert slides out of. Thats it. Really a simple thing to replace.

As for your cruise control I cant answer that - sorry.

Great! thanks, I found it. Boy, that was hard to get out. Insert is ordered.

Now if I could figure out where to start on the Cruise Control.

Before you go changing sensors, you might want to check the grounds on the engine block.
