Ai, skidded sideways into the pavement barrier

It snowed yesterday in Amsterdam, I have 0 tread on my rearwheels (life isn't easy for the rubber with the Euro321HP). (Car=E36 M3 Coupé 1998)

I hit the pavement barrier sideways and bent the lower control arm on the rear-left.

Anyone knows if this is a M-part or regular E-36? If I order a new arm, do I need additional items / special tools?

Also I cracked the rim, so if you have a spare in the attick.... let me know:

I also have M-contours,,,,, will fit these 'till I find a new 8.5J M3Wheel:

Thanks for your infos!!!!

Always nice to see a fellow Dutchman on the boards.

Im sorry to say that we dont have one of these laying around back, however we do have the OEM rims from BMW, but they are about $495 USD each. However if you check out this link,

http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/BMWM/POR_BMWM_WHEELS_main.htm

we have a wonderful selection of BMW replica rims for sale.

as for the lower control arms, they are unique to the M cars.

If you send me your email address I can send you a tech article I have recently written on replacing the trailing arms. It goes over how to get the control arms out. It's not that hard if you have a decent set of tools.

Hoop dit helpt,

Jared.

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha. Absolutely no sense at all, but very funny!!!

I am waiting for the part. It's in backorder (probably many similar accidents that week)

Allready have an appointment at the tireshop for new tires and a 2nd hand rim plus DIY replacement of the arm. End of next week.

What are Zee Germans (This on behalf of ROW)

The lower cross links are not M specific, the trailing link (Alu-cast) _is_ M-specific. But it is not very expensive (My arm = $40 inc)

Beware of Zee Germans has sort of a double meaning.

1. It is a reference to the film Snatch, which in itself is a reference to Fawlty Towers.

Turkish: F*** me, hold tight. What's that?
Tommy: It's me belt, Turkish.
Turkish: No, Tommy. There's a gun in your trousers. What's a gun doing in your trousers?
Tommy: It's for protection.
Turkish: Protection from what? "Zee Germans"?

If you havent seen Snatch, i suggest you check it out, very funny movie.

2. It tells all to beware of our BMW's and what they are capable of.

Replaced the lower control arm on the left rear (EUR 40, standard E36!!!) realligned and I am back in business.

You have to onbold the diff in order to get the control arm out. It's only 2 bolts and then you can use an axle lift to rise the diff 30 mm in its bushings.

2 Jared: Saw Snatch yesterday, had a big laugh!!!! Good tip!
