Power Window problems

the power window doesn't move down when i open the door anymore, but it still works... how can i fix this? I think it might be the door locking assembly. can someone with better insight let me know before i screw things up...

The power window could be hanging up on the door check. I've seent he door check strap break free on these cars and hang up the window. I have to fix this on my own car. IT involves takign the door panel off and re-welding the mounting pont to the chassis.
