Check out my M contours!

So I finally dipped and got a new set of wheels. My old stock bottlecaps were just too hideous for my liking. Who wouldn't want to upgrade to 17s anyways?? So here's the scoop. These contours are STAGGERED! 17x7.5 fronts, 17x8.5 rears! I have Kumho Ecsta MXs on them right now, 225/45 and 245/40. I washed them and they're waiting to be mounted onto my car! Anyways, here's a pic of them:

And here's the inside of them! I cleaned them with some citrus degreaser and a sponge. A nice coat of sealant inside will hopefully ensure it'll stay clean for a long time.

Nice...though aren't all contours staggered?

that's actually something I don't like on my M, buying different tires is expensive ;-)

There are lots of them not staggered. I know that a lot of people are willing to trade non staggered for staggered because they want a wider wheel for track events. Personally, I too would prefer non staggered, but I got a great deal so i couldnt pass it up.

really? well then, that is something I did not know. I only know 2 other people with M's, both converts, both staggered.

either way, for stock wheels they look great!

looking forward to a picture of them installed!! those are the wheels i had considered before ending up with the seven spokes e46 wheels (which should be in my hands in a few days). The contours will make a big difference in your car's "attitude" . max

NICE. Good to see that they are OEM. Many people get the Look-a-likes. The way you can tell is the //M badging by the bolt pattern. I have the same exact setup on my 325I.

Watch the rear fenders with those rims. I had to roll my fenders for the wheels to clear. They would scrape the outside sidewall of the rear tires slightly because they are slightly too wide.

Be nice to your tires because you CAN NOT ROTATE. The joys of directional tires that are different sizes fron to back. Had to deal with this issue on my 1979 Porsche 911 Targa - Pain in the rear.

NJrealtor - is your car lowered in any way? Wouldn't you get rubbing only if your rear wheels were tucked?

Do you have any pictures of what it looks like on your car? I'm going to run my old tires a bit more because they have some more tread left. Thus, I wont be mounting them for another month or so.
