Shadowline window trim

I, like most, hate the oxidized chrome found on many of our older BMWs... Crudum's thread on window trim got me thinking, why deal with shining it when we could get rid of it completely.

I know there is the "shadowline" trim that came on some later 318 I think. Anyone know if it's still available - just checked PP catalog, and the page seems to be down. Costs?

What about painting? I did a search, and found Jared recomending Wurths trim paint, and another that used self-etching paint? Anyone have pics of complete paint jobs of trim...

I hate the damn chrome.

I use the Wurth stuff. It comes out with almost a factory like texture and finish.

However, all you really need to do is order the black window trim sections. They are only like $8 each.

G'damn it Jared do you do anything else over there? That was like a 90sec reply... do you guys carry them - the black window trim pieces (I assume you are talking about the winshield and rear window trim pieces, correct? not the silver trim around the driver's passenger's and rear seat windows)

What about Wurths?

I multi-task quite well... lol.

In addtion to working on the soon to be released updated BMW catalog, I try to keep up on the boards. I look at it as sort of the elemental Tao of what Pelican Parts is all about. shadetree mechanics sharing info. I try to keep that sort of personal connection with our customers as well as people merely looking for information.

As for the window trim, why dont you give me a call and i can go over what we have and what is available.

Don't second guess yourself Guy, I just ordered them up from PP... unfortunately Jared was a bit off on his pricing... $55 front $27 and something else on the back... Oh well still worth it!

Ordered some Wurths paint for $15 too...
