Anyone know what's wrong with my A/C venting?

got a new little problem that's quite annoying. if i run my a/c in fresh air mode (recirculation button NOT lighted), it will intermittently suddenly make a 'swishing/whooshing' type sound and the air flow momentarily disappears from my front main vents for a moment and then returns once the whooshing sound stops.

my guess is that there's some kind of servo inside the dash that controls venting direction that is starting to malfunction.

have any of you encountered and repaired this???

another hint: doesn't seem to occur in recirculatory mode.

yes. bentley manual refers to some 5 motors that servo-operate venting... i was wondering if that might be it?

I would agree with you on this. The mechansim that controls the vents is a servo, so maybe it is cycling due to an internal fault and then opening back up? Does anyone else have any ideas?
