Unhappy ghost problem

I hope someone can help me out I have a 99 323i I love the car but about 5 weeks ago the started to misfire so I took to the bmw dealer where I bought it. but the misfire had stopped they checked it out and could find nothing wrong but on there read out sheet it showed the misfires they told me to bring it back when it was missing, the next day it started doing again I took it back they know its missing but they don't know why, they replaced the main control unit and in two days its doing it again the car has 57 500 mile and has always been serviced by them. its been in the shop for two weeks and I want my car back. anybody have any ideal what it could be

i do believe your car is an e46. Try posting this in the e46 board too. Good luck with it.
