Stock Head Unit
My aftermarket stereo died, so I'm going to reinstall the stock head unit. Everything's great except I can't figure out where to plug in the antenna wire. There are two connections, one is a small connector (I got that attached), and one is a large connector with a long plug. It doesn't fit in the connector on the back of the head unit. What am I doing wrong?
Here's a pic of the plug not fitting into the connector. Shawn 1994 318is 1987 951 |

You're going to need an adapter piece in order to connect the antenna lead inot the unit. Im guessing that they had replaced the antenna lead in order to install the stereo in the first place.
I think you may need to get the original lead from the dealer.. |

Thanks, Jared. I did the aftermarket installation myself, so I'll look to see if I can find the adapter around somewhere, but I don't remember it. The plug in that picture is the original antenna lead.
I know I had to buy an aftermarket adapter to get that lead to work with an aftermarket head unit. |
