OK- State inspection is due for my '95 325i and my reverse lights aren't working! (go figure!). Anyway, have replaced the bulbs and fuse to no avail. Also, the computer is not indicating any error or failure. Anyone have fairly simple instructions on how to replace the reverse light switch?? or any other ideas on what may be wrong??
Thanks!! ~Shay |

Is it an automatic or standard? Either way use some sort of meter to read at the fuse. Turn the key on with it in reverse to see if you get a reading at the fuse location. No reading at the fuse means the problem is somewhere before the fuse and there is a plug underneath your console that might need to be checked out. If the fuse has a reading at it then the problem is after it and if that's the case then check out the plug going into your rear lights. Might be a bad connection there. Wiring can be the biggest pain. Good luck

Changing the switch should be relativley easy, drain the transmission fluid, unscrew the old switch from the side of the transmission case, screw the new one in with a new seal and refill the transmission with fluid.
