Question onboard computer

hello to all
on 92 325I 4DOOR SEDAN
DOES ANYONE HERE KNOW HOW TO RESET THE ONBOARD COMPUTER=THE ONE WHERE YOU CHECK
YOUR FUEL COMSUMPTION TEMP,MINE IS NOT ACCURATE WHEN I RUN THE CAR UNTIL THE LIGHT COMES ON ABOUT A GALLON OF FUEL LEFT IT SAYS DISTANCE 53MILE INSTEAD OF A LOWER NUMBER

Sounds about right to me

The light on the fuel gauge comes on when you've got approximately 2 gallons left. (This is the "reserve" figure.) Depending on recent fuel economy, it's entirely likely that the computer would estimate a range of about 50 miles when the light comes on.

Never trust your OBC for exact mileage. It is not 100% accurate. Once you get down to 9 miles on it, it will go ----. I've gotten down to ---- but still had the car idle another 10 min and drive several more miles. I've seen mine drop from 50 to 25 within 2 miles of driving uphill. Just fill up your car when you see the light come on.
