Door window problems......help!

Hi there,

I have a 98 328is. I noticed a "minor" problem in my automatic windows. It happens on both the driver's side and passenger side. When I depress the rocker switch all the way in order for the windows to roll up automatically sometimes the windows will start going up, then it'll stop, go down 1/4 inch then go back up that 1/4 inch and stay there, then i have to press the button again to roll up the windows. Anyone else have this kind of problem or know how to fix it? Nothing major, but it's kind of annoying sometimes.... Thanks!

The window has a safety feature to detect obsticles in its path. Yours is either too sensitive or the window is binding on its way up.

Hopefully someone here will have more info on testing and repair.

BMW Roundel

My experience with that problem is that it needs a new window motor->>possibly the regulator also if it gets bent removing the motor
