Lately, after the morning startup, I'm hearing a screechy ('bearing'?) noise that changes frequency with engine RPM. Not horrible, but clearly audible.
After a few minutes it goes away. A couple weeks ago I suspected the secondary air pump. I can put my hand on it and feel it running for about 90 seconds. Then it shuts off, as it should. But the noise doesn't go away and isn't coming from that side. The noise is coming from the alternator area. Seeing no abnormal indications from indicators, etc, yet. I don't think I'm hearing it on the afternoon drive-home startup. Ideas?
