ticking/squeaking noise
My 320i just started making this ticking noise when car is idling, it gets worst when I rev it a bit. It is coming from around the alternator area. It is definetly the right side of the engine, driver side. Its not even that noticable at idle, but right when I give it a bit of gas, the ticking/clicking starts, and when it drops back to idle speed, the noise pretty well goes away.

The most common ticking noise is from spirited driving which causes oil starvation which makes the valves tick. If this is happening ALL of the time the first thing to check is your oil level.
BTW, if you drive the engine hard and it is ticking at shutdown it will still tick for a while when you next restart it. Since your ticking noise goes away at idle it probably is not what I described but still check the oil level as your first step.
