Left side dash insert removal
I am trying to remove the left side dash insert to replace the light bulb for the headlight & foglight switches. I removed the screw on the bottom, but the insert is hung-up on something in the top right corner that won't allow me to pull it out. What's the trick to removing this?
thanks, Frank

I had to replace the same dash light bulb for my 95 325is. I also removed the screw right below the headlight switch.
The whole panel assembly was then able to slide out from the bottom and become unattached at the top right corner where the blower vent is. I'm not sure why there would be a hang up in this particular location. There's only a small indent or tab that holds the top part of the vent attached to the main part of the dash. I noticed you have 98 M3. It's possible there is another small screw at the point of where the hang up is, which is not a concern for a 325. |

SC325IS,
I did finally get it out. There was no screw holding it, simply the tab you mention and the air duct behind it. It took more force than I expected, and I just didn't want to break anything without checking with somebody first. I finally have an illuminated light switch - yeah.
