Question Check Control Module (Relay) - Location?

Own a 1995 BMW 318is. I am having problems with brake (stop) lights not turning on. Voltage (12.7 V) is okay after the brake pedal switch, but not present (0.0 V) at the stop lamps (bulbs). The only thing in between is the Check Control Module (or Relay) -- shown in my Chilton Manual (???). Was told the module/relay resides under the dash on the driver's side, but I can not find it. Spent a few hours searching for it. Where exactly is this module/relay? Please help... Thanks!

I thought the Check Control Module WAS the Multi-Function Computer but I apparently was wrong. Bentley says it is under the left side of the dash.

There is supposedly a relay panel there next to the steering column, but Check Control is not listed on it. However, could it be one of the relays Bentley shows as Not Used? Did you try to trace the wire from the brake switch? The Check Control shouldn't be too far away per the description.

It is located under left side of the dashboard (driver's side).
Look at the picture (note there is no dashboard on the picture)
