Turn Signals in Front Bumper

Hi guys,

First post here about my newest purchase..a 1990 BMW 318i touring. Fantastic car with only 87k miles up on the clock and a FBMWSH to boot. All for the princely sum of $500!

I have only one real problem with the car and that is the front left turn signal which is built into the bumper. The wiring is a bit flakey at the back of the signal and so it doesn't work 100% of the time. How can I take out the unit to have a look at the wiring....does the bumper need to come off or what?

Any help would be much appreiciated.

Rgds,

Colm

Hi there. Good purchase! You should be able to get at the front of the assembly by simply taking off the lens. The back will be more dfficult - I think you can reach around there, (can't recall off the top of my head), but it may be easier to take off the bumper if you're planning on replacing a whole bunch of wires...

Hey Wayne,

Thanks for the reply. I feared the worst and my fears were answered. I was looking at the front signals trying to figure out how to take them out and I was saying to myself, surely BMW don't intend you to take of the whole bumper for a simple signal but it looks like they do.

Cheers,

Colm
