Driver door window & central locking system problems
As my window rolled down the other day, there was a loud crunching sound and the window stopped halfway down. I proceeded to roll the window back up and kept it that way until I could take a look at it... I am now looking at the problem. It appears that a wiring harness for the central locking system came loose from its position. As the window rolled down, it caught the harness, tearing it from the wiring. I have removed all parts of the window and the door handle / latch, lock etc. but I can't seem to figure out where this little wiring harness goes! Can someone help me figure out where this piece is supposed to be remounted? Everything else seems to be just fine. I can splice the wires back in and once I know where it goes, I can put everything back together.

Sorry to cry wolf! My impatience forced me to figure it out... This little wiring harness has a square key on the back this key fits into a tab on the inside of the door handle. Once it is set in, you turn the harness clockwise a quarter turn to lock it into position. The rest is all down-hill from here

Yikes, major problems there. This harness catching problem usually doesn't happen unless someone has been inside the door already. Was the protective plastic film still in place?

When I took the door apart, I didn't find any plastic but I did find the foam vapor barrier with a few tears in it. I bought the car used from an auction. It appears that the car was involved in a fender bender before I got it. Now that you mention this, I am sure that this is the reason for the harness coming loose. I am happy to report I was able to put everything back together and all seems to be working like new.
