Automatic Shift Knob Replacement - How To?

I would like to replace my worn out leather shift knob on my 98 323ic but I am unsure how to remove the old one. Anyone ever done this or have directions on how to do this? FYI... It's an automatic and has the button that must be depressed before you can shift. Thanks in advance!

it should just unscrew. You might have to depress the button as you unscrew it.

Thanks I'll give it shot... I have tried that although I didn't use much force out of fear of screwing something up.
