BMW Roundel window issue

I have a 97 328 convertible that has an issue with the window. Each time you hit a bump or pothole (lots here in south Louisiana) the passenger window opens just a little, the same as when you open the door. The sensor on the door latch is I am sure the problem but when you work it with your finger (cheap testing method) it works fine, goes up and down like it is supposed to. The door appears to close all the way and latch properly. Any suggestions? How hard is this part to change and what is this part's technical name? Thanks in advance for you help.

Check out your micro switches, mine are on my door latch on the cars body. Some are in the door mounted in the door latch part.
I have put some tape on mine to compensate for the wear and they are working fine for the moment. I was able to test mine by just pressing the switch on the door strike on the body. It is a small black switch. Mine has a grove worn into it.

I have the parts and plan to fix...sometime. I will have to pull out the rear side pannels and work my way to the switches plug in point. Just a few years ago I had it all apart putting in my hardtop attachment points.

You might be able to check out real oem dot com and find out if yours has the switch in the door latch or on the body door strike.
Best of Luck.
