Obd2 Codes
The check engine light just came on in my '97 328ic. Does anyone know what the OBD2 codes 1421 and 1423 mean? If not, where I could look it up? Also the brake light circuit light is flashing randomly on my OBC. Anyone know how to resolve that either?

Search the web for OBD codes or try http://www.obd-codes.com
The brake switch at the brake pedal is a common failure. Search for your specific message to find out if it is the switch or a bad light.

The message light is "brake light circuit". Would the changing the switch above the brake pedal resolve this possibly?

There are two different messages. One of which is nearly always the brake switch. I can't remember which message is which. Search this forum or the M3 forum or the web. Let me know and maybe some day I will commit it memory.
