Clutch Issue
Hi i am in need of some sound advise.
i have an issue with the clutch on my E36 323 it has developed a vibration that comes through the clutch pedal when you disengage or re-engage the clutch right at the top of the pedel stroke when depressed further it feels ok . it is very noticeable and feels similar to the ABS vibration you get when stamping on the stop pedal, only not qhuite as fast. im not sure if this is a clutch disc or preasure plate problem but what do i know. Its definately the clutch itself the transmission seems ok, and i dont think its the pedel bushes. I have just tried bleeding the clutch hydraulics and that hasnt helped and it is still the same. Not sure if this is right or not but the clutch slave cylinder push rod was quite floppy when fully extended, is that ok ?????? The only other thing is that the clutch is noisy if you keep the pedal depressed, i suppose that could either be the release bearing or the clutch disk itself but its hard to tell. looks like im going to have to remove the gearbox to get any idea of the actual fault. any ideas im stumped Thanks, Simon |

How old is the clutch? It sounds like the friction surface is depleted. If it is around 100k I'd replace the whole shebang.
The slave piston rod should articulate so I'd describe it as floppy.
