erratic engine issues

So, this issue has been going on for a few months on and off.
Ihave a 92' 325i automatic. I've already changed my icv with no success. Basically, I'll be driving with a cold engine or warm engine and I will be accelerating with pedal at 3/4 to WOT and get a "power loss" almost like someone cut the fuel completely, car will dive forward for a second then continue on like nothing happened. what else could ccause this? I've heard throttle position sensor and coolant temp sensor, but I don't know.

thanks, josh

Besides those it could be fuel filter, pressure regulator or a vacuum leak that opens up under high load. check the intake tubing for cracks.

i guess you musta checked your air filter, if your tank isn't drinking thirsty then it may be your fuel pressure, to test it remove when idle your fuel pump fuse which is number 11, 7.5A. this turns off your fuel pump from pumpin, the car should cut out in a few seconds an still may fire a bit when turnin cause of the remainin pressure, but if the fuel pressure is low then it may cut out immediately or earlier. if this is the case i reckon the pressure regulator should be fine cause it managed to hold up enough pressure to move the car then that pressure is gone as you moved, so your fuel pump is left cause that is what is pumping fuel either slowly or there may be a blockage in the line. you can always take out the fuel output pipe and pour it in a bottle (near the regulator) by putting your finger to block the petrol you can guess how hard it is pumping. this has to be done when turning cause the pump wont pump otherwise.

bless
