Ok,
So I searched the forum with no joy. I have a 1997 316i compact. I, stupidly, bought AC Schnitzer 19" alloys for it. In case you want a look: gee.smithfield.tv/schnitzer/alloys.html Unfortunately, they come out slightly passed the fenders and every bump causes the tire to rub the fenders. My questions are: 1/ Should i get the fenders rolled/the suspension stiffened? 2/ Would a different wheel offset help? what offset? 2/ Does anyone else have large rims on a compact? 3/ What's the largest size that anyone has gotten on? thanks a million. |

1) If it sticks out past the fender then stiffening and standard rolling wont help.
2) If there is room on the inside then a different offset might help. More than likely the offsets on the compact are different than the standard models so you need to find out what the stock offset is or buy rims advertised for the compact model.

Ya, I got an alloy company recommending 18" and 8" width or 8.5" width maximum he said for the compact.
I asked him what offset it had and he said ET46. I really wanted to fit these though....somehow... |
