Front Rotors '93 e36

My front rotors are below min at 19.6mm - manual says 20.4 I think. The car has only done 60,000 mile - question is would you expect this degree of wear at such a low mileage? Is my manual figure maybe incorrect?

front rotors normal wear with the pads and that would be roughly every 15000-20000 miles.
yours lasted 60000? If your not the first owner i bet that is the 2nd set if not the third set of brakes on the front.

60k is about right for a set of rotors.

Mine tend to hit min spec during the third set of pads so I recommend changing them every other set of pads.

The min spec in mm is stamped on the center of the rotor. You may have to scrub it clean to see it.

OK - thats very useful - time for a change clearly - no I'm not the original owner. I'm not used to cars that get through rotors that fast I guess. What about the rear rotors? Change them as well - though I guess they last quite a bit longer? - impossible to measure without taking the back plate off - and once I start that well.................

I measure my rotors without the backing plate off. The rears you just cant reach the innermost portion.

On my M3, the rears lasted 93k with some track use. On my 330, my rears lasted 87k with some track use. Thats 4-5 sets of pads, without the track the might have lasted 110k.
