code radio procedure 88 325i

I have the code to my original BMW am-fm cassette radio, but do not have the book that gives the procedure on how to enter the code.
thanks in advance, hushpuppy

When you power up the radio, it is waiting for you to enter your code. Use the buttons to enter your code.

Yuric,
thanks for your response, I just tried that, but I just get "COdE" on the screen, but no response to pushing the buttons, just a high pitch noise occasionally. Possibly this radio is shot, I've never had it in the dash before now. On my other coded radios (audi,VW), there was a procedure to zero out the screen and then each button would enter a number. does 12325 sound like a valid code for one of these? It was written down in my owners manuel.
thanks, hushpuppy

Entering your 5-digit code is as simple as that. Perhaps your code is incorrect?

My code is 5 digits too. There is nothing to do but press in the code when the radio comes on. No other buttons to press.

Is there a bench test mode? If so what does the display read?

Bench test mode

I can confirm that the BMW CD53 R50 ALPINE CD/FM/AM PLAYER (found in the new MINI's) does not have a code. Additionally, the only thing you can access from the MODE button is to turn the RDS and PTY functions from ON to OFF,
