ABS Problem

hi all, i'm currently trying to figure out whats wrong with the abs, the brakes are too stiff and i can't stop this car very well

However, after running the diagnostic programme on the car, the abs ecu cannot be accessed to gain a picture of what is going on

Anyone have any idea if there are any alternatives to fixing this problem.

Thanks in advance

Should not be the ABS.

A failing brake booster might make the brakes stiff. You should check the pads too.

Thanks for the reply, the brake booster was initally leaking.

However, i have replaced it to a 328 version (was 320) and the booster doesnt leak anymore.

i've also checked the brake pads and they seem fine.
The brakes have also just been bled.

Everything seems to work except that i can't gain access to the abs/asc ecu.

The best thing is that the ews is also broken now. Can't start the car at all.

Is there anyway to reset the ews or bypass it totally?

Please help.

Thank you

If the booster you put in is not the same as the old one then brake effort may be different.
