O2 sensor connections?

On the '97 328i, dual exhaust, each manifold has an O2 sensor. The connections are on top of the motor, under the plastic cover. Can anyone tell me which connector (front/rear) goes to which exhaust manifold (front/rear)?

Are you asking this question because you have them unplugged and you need to know where to plug them back in? I vaguely recall that if you route the wires correctly, one comes out slightly longer than the other, and the longer wire goes to the farther plug.

If this doesn't work, I'm sure one of us can pull off our cover and look for you. Unfortunately, I will be out the rest of the weekend.

The bank 2 sensor (rear) wire has more slack on top of the motor, so it reaches the front connector more easily. That is how mine is wired, I replaced both O2 sensors and connected them as I found them. However I was referencing Doug's Domain (http://www.dvatp.com/bmw/diy/oxygen_sensors/) it says bank 1 connects to front connector. I was concerned because I only recently bought the car and one sensor was much newer looking than the other, thought maybe something had been switched at some point. My car runs good and just passed smog, I must have it right?
