Need some Help! Clutch will not disengage fully, making me crazy
Okay, well I've basically figured out what my problem is, and I searched it a little bit on here but all those threads are really old and never had a solution posted in them...
So, from the top! Finished my auto to manual swap and I'm having problems because the clutch won't fully disengage. I think this is the problem because: 1) Car is up on jackstands and when the clutch is fully depressed the rear wheels will spin when you try to put the car into gear. You have to hold a little bit of pressure on whatever gear you want with the clutch pressed all the way to the floor and once the wheels reach a steady speed the tranny will allow you to slip into gear. I've bled the crap out of the slave cylinder that came with the swap kit, and it still didn't work, so I tried taking it out and I accidentally popped its guts out trying to bleed it. So I ordered a new M3 slave and I've bled it following the bentley directions. I don't have a pressure bleeder so I'm doing it manually. I did however rent a vac bleeder from autozone but it doesn't seem to be helping. Anyway, I have about 3 feet of hose full of fluid, and no bubbles, and something like 400 CCs of fluid in the bleed cup. A few things to consier: 1) the hydraulic line that comes from the master cyl to the rubber hose that eventually leads to the slave is not in its original shape, I had to "modifiy" it when installing it because I couldn't get it in to save my life. I tried for like literally two hours. I bent it slightly in places to maneuver it into the correct posistion. There are no kinks and no twists that were visible. I made sure to inspect it for this before installing it. But maybe this has got something to do with whats going on 2) I've got a strange whistling noise when I quickly press the clutch to the floor and then release all pressure. Like basically moving the pedal to the floor in less than a second and then "dumping" the clutch. Sound shappens when you quickly release the clutch from the floor. Not when its being pressed to the floor Sounds like this: I'm at my wits end, I'm borrowing my old man's truck while I did the swap and I have to return it this week and I've really got no idea WTF is going on here. I tried everything I can think of. Here are a few answsers to the questions that I'm sure will come: Flywheel: UUC 8.5lb Clutch: Southbend Stage 2 e36 M3/e34 M5 I replaced the clutch fork, pivot pin, Throwout bearing, throwout bearing guide tube, and the clip that holds the clutch fork to the pivot pin. I have also now replace the slave cylinder with OEM M3 slave cyl. I could really use some ideas/help guys |
