My top on my 1999 BMW 323i lowers OK but just before completely lowering it jams. It means getting out of the car to give it a hard push. It then folds away. It does not always happen but quite a lot of the time. Any ideas on how to cure this, please?

There are some adjustments that you can do to the clamshell mechanism - you can loosen the bolts and move the final resting position of the clamshell, perhaps that may help. I'm not a huge fan of troubleshooting convertible issues - they tend to be very finicky and difficult to get "just right".
